Teanlowe Shopping – Works Update, Jan 2015
Posted on 16th January 2015
The Works So Far…
Renovation works to the Market Place Mall are now complete with the fully glazed entrance now fully operational with no further closures.
The attractive brick and glass architecture has brought a modern, fresh approach to the mall and feedback from the public and Teanlowe retailers has been very positive.
The Teanlowe car park has now been re-opened to the public ahead of schedule having been landscaped and re-laid with new surfaces, bay markings and new designated pedestrian routes for safe and easy access in and out of the shopping mall.
What’s Next…
With demolition of part of the centre complete, construction of the new 35,200 sq ft Booths’ store has commenced and is scheduled to open to the public in Autumn 2015.
A new bus lay-by will be created which will be fully compatible with a proposed new link road through the Hardhorn Road car park, a Lancashire County Council project.
Graham Booth, Property Director at Booths said, “I would like to thank all the Teanlowe tenants, members of the public and the local business community for their continued support and for bearing with us through this demolition period. We hope you appreciate the progress made so far and that the results have been worth waiting for.
“We are now entering the final phase of the project with the new Booths’ store firmly on the horizon. The new few months will be very exciting for everyone involved as we begin to see the new store taking shape.”
The main contrators, Eric Wright Construction, will continue to work closely on site with the local community to minimise disruption wherever possible. If you have any issues or questions, please contact Kevin Burgoyne on 07917 621015 to discuss the matter personally.
