Robert Pinkus & Co. have been appointed as agents to find new tenants for a prominent flagship store in Preston city centre, which provides over 8,700 sq ft of retail space.
The search is on for a national retailer to take up the prime two storey unit currently occupied by charity YMCA t the heart of Fishergate, Preston’s main retail destination. The asking rent has been reduced to £275,000 per annum to entice a desirable retailer into making the move to Preston’s high street.
Joe Assalone, Partner at Robert Pinkus & Co. said, “This is an excellent opportunity for a leading national retailer looking to make the move to Preston, free from the trappings of the now redundant Tithebarn Scheme and sits associated red tape. It’s an exciting time once again for the development of the city with plenty of opportunity to cultivate Preston into a smart, desirable place to shop, with various developers currently debating different creative plans and fresh ideas.
“Ultimately, the first step for the future retail growth of Preston has to be getting the right quality national retailers into key units that already exist on our high street and that are ready for occupation. The unit on Fishergate is an excellent example of this and our expertise and knowledge of both local and national retail sectors will aid us in filling this prime unit.”
