1414A new 32,500 sq ft Booths foodstore opened its doors just in time for Christmas in a Lancashire market town as part of £6.7m retail development.
The design and build programme took 84 weeks to complete and co-ordinated by main contractor Eric Wright Construction, represented a key element of £19m scheme to transform and improve Teanlowe Shopping in Poulton-le-Fylde.
The project involved refurbishing the existing north mall and demolishing the western wing to make way for a Booths store. Other works included extending the former Clark’s shop to accommodate relocated tenants, improvements to the existing facade, with a new two-storey glazed entrance and upgrades to new public realm areas.
Designed by architects Leach Rhodes Walker, the new Booths store features a first floor cafe and doubles the size of the supermarket’s existing footprint in the town.
Mike Thomson, Estates Director at Booths added, “The response to the new Booths store at the Teanlowe Centre has been extremely positive. We are very proud and pleased to be at the centre of its redevelopment and enjoyed a busy Christmas.”
Robert Pinkus & Co. LLP was part of Booths Development Team and acted for Booths as their Development Consultant.
