E H Booth & Co. Ltd. have announced they are planning to open their new Burscough store in late June.
The store which will be located on the Ringtail Retail Park has casued great local interest since building began in March last year.
The supermarket has been designed to reflect the site’s heritage as a former World War II airfield. The design and build of the store will resemble an aircraft hangar and the memorial garden for the Royal Naval Air Station monument will be moved to a fully accessible, safer and more prominent position on the site,
The whole retail development has been designed with green principles in mind and will employ rainwater harvesting, incorporating best practice guidelines on Sustainable Drainage Guidelines. The site will also include an additional area to the north provided as a wetland area for wildlife.
Graham Booth, Property Director at Booths said, “We look forward to bringing a vibrant and modern retail destination to Burscough.
“We will be working closely with the developers to ensure a foodstore of the highest quality is delivered.
“Our ethos in designing stores is to complement the architecture and character of the surrounding landscape and we’re very excited about giving this supermarket the look and feel of an aircraft hanger which will suit the needs of a supermarket very well indeed.”
